When you upload a custom skin to a character slot, then open the game on another device and select this slot, the game will tell you that custom skins can’t transfer between devices, which is normal. But if you upload another custom skin to the same slot on that device, when you go back to the former device, the custom skin you uploaded there will also disappear. Presumably, this will also happen between the release and preview versions when MCPE-241720 is fixed in the release version.
Steps to reproduce this issue:
Upload a custom skin in the dressing room.
Close the game on this device, then open the game on another device/instance.
Upload another custom skin to the same character slot used in step 1.
Close the game, go back to the first device/instance, and check the character slot.
Expected result:
Since custom skins can’t be transferred between devices, we should be able to upload the same skin manually to the same slot on different devices/versions.
Actual result:
Once a character slot is used to store a custom skin on one of the devices/versions, it can only be used to store custom skins under the same account on that particular device or game version, so you’ll have to upload it to another slot, making the total usable slots decrease by the devices and versions you use.
