using a Nextbook 7" tablet (Next7P12-8g), Android v 4.0.4., kernel 2.6.34
I have two of the same tablet, so it's not just a fluke.
I encounter the bug often by accidentally bumping into the 'jump to desktop' button, and re-entering the game (no matter how long of a pause I use between returning).
When I resume the game, often the screen is shaking and I cannot access the menu, even while pressing the (back button). These results are intermittent yet persistent. If it happens during loading, the same 'loading chunks saving etc' garbage flashes really fast.
The last time it happened in-game, I was able to swipe the screen sideways turning the character, and noticed that My character could not turn a certain direction without the violent seizures. I could pull him in and out of seizure mode by facing ??? direction.
This is quite bothersome when I am playing single player, but even worse when i am hosting a multiplayer with my kid, as when the game joiner quits they lose all of their items unless they place them in a chest. (second bug?)
Both of my nextbook with current version are experiencing this problem, with full charged battery might I add; looks like a software issue.
Thank you for your concern and investigation into this matter.

Ah, yes it does look like that. I overlooked mcpe 2411 because i thought 'vibrant screen' meant the colors were too bright; Upon watching the .mov I recognize the same violent shaking patterns.
Upon checking, my tablet is running a 1ghz cpu.
There is a Settings > System > Developer options menu for my tablet;
Should I click "Force GPU rendering" (use 2d hardware acceleration in applications) ??
Thanks, I've marked the other tickets as duplicates of this one even though they were here first, since this one is complete and describes the issue thoroughly.
Re: "Force GPU," I've never experienced this bug myself, but if you come across a workaround, please post it here. I don't think that option will help, though; it should already be using the GPU. I think that's for 2D apps with software rendering. Can't hurt to try, though.
I've tried the Force GPU, and it didn't help.
The only time I get the seizures is after jumping to desktop(which bypasses the menu system), through the always-present touchscreen 'button' at the bottom of my screen (very close to the down pad!) When this happens I must kill the task, and open a fresh Minecraft Pocket Edition.
I'd hate to stick a piece of tape over it , I almost wonder if there'd be a way to write an 'Are You Sure?' code in, in the case that the button is pressed, bypassing the menu system.
Additionally, are users with a similar tablet whom have greater than 1ghz cpu speed having any problems after (pressing a button that tabs to their desktop, bypassing the menu system)??
I will continue to experiment around. I wish that I could disable this button on my end; If i come up with a viable solution, I will report back with details.
Still having the issue in 0.7.0 version as well. Only occurs after re-entry into game AFTER hitting home key (jumping to desktop)
My kid came up with his own version of a work-around ; he changed the settings for the d-pad to 'lefty' .. which places the directional pad on the right side (away from the home-eject key)..
I can't get used to that mode, Im a WSAD w/ mouse user on PC ;(
Im going to place a foam barrier over the home-eject key.
Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version 0.7.4 ? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.
Still a problem on the most recent version. Works fine on my Samsung Galaxy SIII as far as I can tell, but then I'm a lefty, which might explain it if @I sim's comment is anything to go by.
My son has a 7" @tab tablet, I can confirm switching to left hand mode DOES fix the problem, as suggested by I sim's kid. 🙂
Observations currently:
I don't think I've seen the issue in creative mode, but then I'm doing different things in creative, so that might explain it.
The issue could be related to looking to the NE, i.e. directly opposite from where the controls would be when in normal right-hand mode, at least that was the direction I was facing when it started occurring again just now, and returned every time I faced that direction. I was stood in a hillside dwelling, so I thought it might be related to the camera calculating the view point while in a 2 block height building and glitching. But then I went outside into the open and the problem repeated every time I looked back in the same direction.
I'll have to wait till he's in bed before he lets me run some more tests.
UPDATE Switching to left hand mode appears to be a temporary fix - it started happening again while looking almost exactly in the same direction as before. I switched back and forth between left/right hand and changed the draw distance as well, to see if that would help and eventually it was okay again.
Maybe we need to submit a save game to help debug it.
Does the video attached to MCPE-2411 look like what you're seeing?
