For some reason, there is no 'X' button for signs when pulling the keyboard back down. I had to constantly close and open up the app in order to apply the sign text.

Confirmed on iPad Air 2. I think what is happening is the sprite thar the "X" is is the same as the sign sprite, so when you get to line 3 the sprite goes off the page.
