Multipayer cannot connect to play with friend via Xbox live

My son has been trying for days to connect and play multiplayer with a friend via Xbox live. His friend is playing on some type of apple device, and we have an Android ZTE Max phone (it also won't work if we are on the Xbox One either). We receive a join request and it begins to connect and immediately bumps us from the server. When we send a request, nothing happens like his friend cannot join our world either. I am just mom, and do not quite understand all of how this works, but we did everything the utube videos on the topic said and my daughter also has tried many times to make this work and it just won't. We have WIFI on, so that's not it. Both kids have the latest update for Pocket Edition too....

Please help asap.... It's the one thing my son wants more than anything right now is to play with his friend and is the whole reason I paid for Xbox live. Microsoft says i1.t's not on their end so I'm begging you I guess......

Sincerely,
Michelle Dowling

Are they both signed into Xbox Live? If they are, I don't know why it wouldn't be working, I play with a friend, who has an iPad, and i have a pc. Perhaps they aren't in the same version? There was a minor update after the Better Together update. If any of them put in their actual age or an age lower than 18, they may be potentially banned from multiplayer. How you would overcome this problem is to make a dummy account, make the dummy account the parent account of your child's account (or his friend), and then change the privacy settings so he can play online.

I also can confirm this issue.

I have a active Gold membership and can see my friends are Online playing Minecraft for Windows 10.

But on the Xbox in the Game itself it say`s "No on of your friends are currently playing Minecraft"

I hope I can solve this with the following troubleshooting from another user here:

"Hi all,
I'm not sure if this would work for you, I contacted Xbox support and they guided/troubleshooted this and got the issue resolved in our case. It seems there was some issue in my sons profile on the xbox that did not pick up on the Gold membership, and by removing his profile and adding it back on to the Xbox One S seems to link it properly and resolved the issue for us, the steps we followed were:
We removed my sons profile completely from the xbox (this is the affected profile, we left my profile on the xbox - which is the one with the xbox gold membership)
Then we turned the Xbox off by pressing the power button on the Xbox for 10 seconds
Removed the power cable from the Xbox for 1 minute
Turned the Xbox back on again
Added my sons profile back onto the Xbox
Started Minecraft, and hey Presto" online multiplayer works, the disconnected message is gone, he can invite his friends and Realms are now available
The Xbox support guy (Ryan) recons it is something to do with my sons profile not picking up/linking properly with the main member/profile's gold subscription, and removing the profile as per the steps above and then adding it establishes the connection to the main member's gold membership."

I will tell if this works

For me it is the problem with Win10 Version and Xbox One Version
Both have the latest Update.

From PC to PC there is no Problem to join the multiplayer game with an invitation, but from Xbox One to PC it is.

Same issue. My game says that you need to be connected to Xbox Live, but I'm already connected and signed in to the account I purchased Minecraft Xbox One Editoin.

I can confirm this issue as well. I am using windows 10 My kids use an iPad (ios) and I have a few friends that play on an android. My friends and kids are able to join other worlds (except mine) and I am sometime times able to join other worlds when I do not get bumped off of XBOX Live.

for me i can join my friends but they can not join me to them it will say unable to connect and this is happening for a lot of others to

This happens to us all the time. I can NEVER connect to theirs but they can most of the time connect to mine. It's very picky and it would be nice for this to get fixed please. Today they cannot connect to mine at all.
