Update by @unknown:
Verification Builds:
1.2.2.3 (Realms)
1.2.5.0 Retail Beta Build 1
Summary:
Doors that do not have two solid blocks beneath them will break when they receive a block update. (For example, trying to place a pressure plate beside them.) Once the door has broken, no other door can be placed there until there are two solid blocks beneath.
Steps to Reproduce: (Method 1)
Place two blocks on top of each other
Place a door on the top block
Break the lower block
Place a block next to the door
Observed Results:
The door will break and drop as an item.
Expected Results:
The door should not break unless it's supporting block is broken.
Steps to Reproduce: (Method 2)
Attempt to place a door on a single floating block.
Observed Results:
The door will appear to place for a split second, but not leave the inventory.
Expected Results:
The door should be able to be placed on a single floating block.
Screenshots/Videos attached: Yes
Notes:
Original Description:
When walking over a wooden pressure plate in Realms instead of opening the door it breaks it. It does not happen in Single Player.

To add to this - in my experience any redstone signal will break any type of door (all types of wood and iron doors). Once a door has been broken a door can NEVER be placed in that same spot again (or at least not through any means I've found.

I'm having the same issue in my Realm on Windows 10 and the Xbox One editions. It appears that, when at sea level, I can't place a door - there is a flicker and the door returns to my inventory. The only workaround I found is to set a block above sea level, place a door, and have a stairway on each side of the block that was raised up.
See screenshots - screenshot-1 is the result of trying to place a door. screenshot-2 is the only way I was able to place a door. I will also attach a screencast if that helps to get the issue resolved.

I have just the same Problem
The weired thing is, the Door was at the place before and after I joind my world again and want to open the door, it just breaks and go to my inventary.
I was not able to put it right back at the same place.
Also here 2nd floor of a house, floor is just one block thick.
The free space is 2 blocks high, just like the door itself.
