Saves not backing up to the cloud on Xbox One BTU

Found a issue with cloud saving in the Better Together update. I went to use my new console and my cloud saves are about a month old and my local save is corrupt. I think the issue is that as the file size gets large it doesn't upload it to the cloud. I did lots of exploring and that created a large game size. The saves that do upload to the cloud are smaller in size. You guys need to address this, this is definitely a bug on the Xbox One.

I am having a similar issue. This was a freshly created world for our lets plays where I had spent quite some time recreating many of our old set pieces from scratch. I've been working on it for at least a month now, and then today my Xbox had a bad update, or something, and is now going to need to be reset. Which will most likely destroy any local saves, and when I tried to pull up the world on my daughters Xbox, the cloud save simply had an empty field where all of my hard work once was. I'm also afraid of rebuilding it again, as my Xbox has had a issue that required a reset a few times recently. This is not the first world I will have lost to this issue, either. The weirdest part is that the save was marked as today's save, as I had gone into the world this morning, but the cloud just hadn't saved anything new.

Also of note, as far as I understand it, there's no other way to transfer saves on an Xbox One, so this prevents ANYONE from migrating a Minecraft BTU world to an Xbox One X, if they get one. Just an FYI.

Oh, and and last time I opened my world, the save file was just above 20mb's, or so. Unfortunately, it looks like the last time the save actually took there was nothing in the world but a few pieces of sea lantern I had placed to mark out where I was going to start my build.

I had another world that was over 100MB and had same issue. I have another world for testing different things. It was fine as it was around 3MB. And that's my problem migrating to a One X, I lost so much progress. Any other game I have had no issue restoring my saves just Minecraft BTU. Its something the devs needs to look into and fix. Maybe add a function to back up to One Drive and restore.

I'm still trying to fix my Xbox with an offline update, to see if I can save my current Minecraft saves, but it's not looking good, it has failed 3 or 4 times at this point. I'm really trying to avoid a full factory reset. The saddest part of all this was the timing. I had been considering investing in some Minecoins yesterday, before Xbox freaked out. In fact, had this not happened when it did, I would have bought them yesterday afternoon. Now, I'm not so sure. If I can't transfer my saves, and my Xbox takes a permanent dive, or I decide I want an Xbox One X, then I'm screwed.

I never thought of it till now, which sucks cause I may have been able to carry my world over. I wonder if you pay for realms, even for one month just so you can access it from another console and save it locally. Might even be worth paying for realms if it will keep backing up your world. I never thought of it, it might work doing it that way.

Honestly, I just can't justify a monthly purchase on something like realms to my wife. in fact she's about ready to drop Netflix. Maybe if our Let's Plays were monetized, and we could cover the cost with that money, I'd consider it.

Had something like this happen. My cloud saves are old, and one of them got corrupt. It was reading as a 300mb save file on my old console. After getting my One X, the save crashes halfway through cloud recovery and now only hits 25mb.

Same issue as me Joe, my cloud version was around 30 MB whereas locally it was over 250MB. Mine got corrupt too somehow, and lost a lot of progress. I hope the developers see this and fix this issue.

Got the Xbox One X for Xmas and when I went to migrate my games over everything worked fine EXCEPT Minecraft. I can't sync with the Cloud to transfer the games. Gives me an error about the other Xbox is still trying to sync.

This seems like a size issue as the smaller worlds were backed up. I even copied the larger worlds just to see if they would sync to the cloud and no go. One larger world that was on the cloud corrupted on the new Xbox One X.

I did a lot of reading on the Internet about this and Microsoft blames Mojang and Mojang blames Xbox. The passing of the blame game. There are multiple versions of this issue in the database. Come on Mojang/Microsoft.. fix your game!
