Long world names cannot be edited on copied worlds

Verification builds:
1.2.6 Retail

Summary:
World names cannot be edited if the name is very long and the world is copied.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Rename World with very long name (at least 24 characters in enUS version).

  2. Enter Settings of the World.

  3. Create a copy of previously created World.

  4. Attempt to change World Name of the World created in step 3.

  5. Observe the issue.

Observed Results:
World Name cannot be edited if it contains too many characters (exceeds max number that Player can put inside the text box).

Issue occurs after 'Copy of' string is added to World Name and it exceeds the max number of characters after the change. Issue also occurs after downloading a World from Realm with very long name.

User can fix this issue by selecting the text by pressing CTRL + A and deleting World Name.

Expected Results:
Player should always be able to change the World Name.

Reopened - this was fixed in the 1.2.10.1 BETA, but the fix wasn't included in 1.2.10.2.

Still bug in Xbox one live version v1.2.11

Yep, I am seeing this on Xbox One (Bedrock version) as well.

1.21.5.1 - This has resurfaced on the Bedrock Edition of the game (On the Xbox Series X) for worlds backed up from a Realms Subscription.

This has become a huge problem for me. It is affecting my primary Kingdom and my new world.

The problem is I was using realms to upload and download my worlds to play when I don't have access at home, which is almost nightly. Realms is the only method I have to swap the worlds between my tablet and XBox…and no, playing remote on the XBox (on the site or the app) is not an option.

SO, my process WAS:

  1. Upload the world to Realms on the XBox.

  2. Play on realms on the XBox

  3. Ensure the last save on realms has all my updated saves, and download that backup to my tablet.

  4. Take my tablet where I can't play remote, and play it on the local storage.

  5. Upon return home, I upload the world to realms, from my tablet, replacing the previous version.

  6. I play on Realms on my XBox until it's time to repeat the process.

NOW, I cannot change the name of the world on the XBox, but It is also telling me that “The world name contains words that others may find offensive and cannot be used" when I try and upload either of the worlds.

The name is literally the downloaded name from Realms:

10 Player 11/20/2025 09:30:11PM - Copy

This completely destroys my ability to play in my worlds while I'm away from home. Anyone know a workaround?

Thanks,

Tazz
