Crafting 8 Arrows and a Potion Doesn't Craft an Arrow of that Potion

If I have a 'Potion of Weakness' and 8 or more arrows in my inventory, I get a visual showing that I do not have the potion, although it is clearly in my inventory.

The only explanation I can imagine is that, if there is a difference in the duration of the potion I have (i.e., 4:00) and the duration of the potion on the crafting table, perhaps I am not considered to have that potion.

However, that would suggest that there is some other way of acquiring potions of the appropriate duration, matching what the crafting table permits. That would seem counter-intuitive and very user-unfriendly.

Pretty sure you need a Lingering Potion - one crafted using Dragon's Breath from Splash Potion - to craft tipped arrows.

As Marek Kedzierski said (and as shown on the Minecraft Wiki Arrow article), crafting tipped arrows does require a lingering potion. Are you using a lingering potion?

Thank you for your report!

As stated, the recipe requires a lingering potion to make tipped arrows in the crafting table.

There is also the Bedrock feature to use a cauldron to make tipped arrows: Place any potion into a cauldron and then right click/use arrows on the cauldron:

This is the recommended board for XBox One X users, and, it works the same way it does in the Pocket Edition. That means that there is no need to go to the End, no need to get Dragon's Breath and no need to get a Potion of Lingering.

It turns out that all that's required is to put the potion in a cauldron and, on XBox One X, 'left trigger' the potion while holding arrows in your hand.

I think XBox One is very popular and that the question was asked fairly and politely. I'm very disenchanted by this experience.

@unknown - Did you not see the response saying that you can also use a cauldron to create tipped arrows?
