When I open Minecraft. It tries to login to Xbox live even when offline. When offline or on networks that may block Xbox live servers, instead of not logging in it just crashes. Full screen freeze no in game buttons can be used.

It's possible that a network may only block some of the Xbox Live server IPs or ports and not others, which I can imagine might trigger a crash, but I've never heard of it crashing when the device itself was offline. Are you sure this happens when you're actually offline and not just behind a firewall or proxy server?
