Realm has been ruined - random blocks everywhere

Our whole realm, which has both MCPE and Win10 edition players, has been completely ruined and it wasn't by any of the players. I can't really explain it, so please refer to the screenshots provided. These weird monstrosities of random blocks have appeared in place of proper structures. It seems to be mostly where non-generated blocks exist. Our win10 edition player found it like this after I had been asked to update (MCPE) because the realm had been updated, but before he had. Please let me know which details are required to fix this or roll it back. We have spent a lot of time on this world and now it is completely ruined.

Is that reserved?! :o
If you ask, reserved was an replacement for fire until fire got fixed. It still exists but uses a placeholder UPDATE/ATEUPD texture (Depsite the missing texture from pc existing)
You cannot obtain it normally.

I don't understand what reserved, fire or the placeholder texture are.

Just an update: this hasn't just happened where we added non-generated blocks. It seems like the whole map/world was scrambled. However, noob admin here (me) found the backups in the admin console and we managed to restore to just before it happened. According to my fellow realm players, there are still some minor differences - some small areas of blocks missing etc, but it's close enough to what it was that we are willing to continue playing.

This issue can be closed, I guess, but it could be worth looking into what caused this.

Thank you for your report!

I'm pleased that you were able to restore a backup, not sure why this would have happened, sorry for the inconvenience. If you have any issues with your realm in the future, you might like to contact Mojang Customer Support directly.
