World Disappeared. Corrupted Copy.

Here's my story: I signed up for the Minecraft Beta on Xbox One. I played it for a bit in one of my worlds, but then I decided to uninstall the beta, sign out of the beta and after that I reinstalled the "Non-Beta" version but the world that I played on the beta was missing. I thought that because I played it on a different update or version, it wasn't showing up on the "Non-Beta" version of Minecraft. Only in the Beta Version of Minecraft. So I decided to keep playing the game on the beta. I made a copy of my world (while I was playing on the Beta) and decided to do everything again: Sign out of the beta, uninstall and reinstall the standard version. I saw my copy of my world there but when I entered it, my world was pretty much corrupted. There are missing chunks, the world is "Incomplete" My house is gone. Instead there's a big hole. So I have 2 questions; Where's my world, the one that is missing in the Non Beta version of the game? And if my world appears again on the Regular Version, does that mean that is damaged/corrupted as well? PS: I never activated the Experimental Gameplay on any of them. How can I recover my worlds?

If I understand the sequence of events correctly, you opened your pre-beta world while using the beta, and you didn't make a copy of it first. When you open a world in a later release (either regular or beta), it gets upgraded to the later release so that you can use the new features in that world. Once upgraded, it can't be downgraded again, and the earlier release can no longer open it (and won't display it in the world list). This is why, the first time you open a beta release, you're warned to back up your worlds. I'm afraid that without a copy from before you opened it in the beta, you won't be able to play that world in the pre-beta release any more. (You should be able to continue playing it in the beta, though.)

I'm not sure why you were able to see the world after the second time you uninstalled the beta, but I can say that the apparently missing chunks is a consequence of having opened it in the beta. The beta uses a new, more efficient format for saving chunks that you update. The pre-release doesn't understand the new format, so it ignores the data for those chunks, which leaves a hole.

I don't think opening the upgraded world in the pre-beta was likely to corrupt the world, but it would be safer not to. Like I said above, you're not supposed to be able to do that. I am certain, though, that any world you opened in the beta will have the missing chunks problem if you open it in the pre-beta release.

Note that Experimental Gameplay isn't a factor here. Most new features in the beta are available with it off. It only enables a few features that haven't been tested well yet and are most likely to cause a crash or corruption. That's why it automatically makes an [EX] copy of the world when you turn it on.

I'm sorry your world isn't available in the pre-beta release any more. If you decide to reinstall the beta so you can continue playing it, be sure to make a copy of any other worlds before you open them in the beta.
