Dolphins keep killing themselves

In the snapshot when dolphins came to life, I realised any dolphins I spawned in they kept disappearing after a short while, I started to discover that they were killing themselves and I don't understand how

I don't own the beta, but I have seen video footage of this happening. Dolphins require air to live, meaning they have to surface every once in a while. From what I've seen, their AI bugs out and causes them to not surface when needed. As a result, they drown. Obviously, that doesn't fix the problem, but I hope that answers your question as to why.

I've reproduced this issue pretty consistently a few times. I'm trying to keep an aquarium with 2 blocks of water and one block of air all around. the block above the air is an all glass block floor. aquarium walls are polished diorite. all solid blocks basically. the dolphins love to jump out of the water onto any surface and kill themselves. it's really annoying behavior. i have prevented that and they keep dying anyway. i finally got my eyes on one of them dying and it appeared to be just under water next to some coral and sea pickles almost pinned between them at the floor of the tank. they usually don't swim right on the floor and i'm pretty sure those floor objects can't pin them so it was weird that it just started taking damage very rapidly and then quickly died. that is the fifth dolphin i've lost since i figured out the two blocks of water and one block of air trick. i keep bringing dolphins up a river from the ocean and back to my aquarium then i nametag them and eventually they die. they only seem to die when i'm on the server somehow they never die while i'm offline which is the really weird thing. A friend of mine who is a minecraft master says it's a known glitch due to the hitbox being too big on the mob. Basically everyone I have talked to says this is a known glitch so I really think this glitch should be re-opened and addressed. I have an easier time keeping squids than I do dolphins.
