Cannot left click indefinitely

I can no longer hold down the left trigger/left click to interact with blocks or mobs multiple times. For example, before the update, if I wanted to rotate an item frame 180 degrees, I would hold down the "use" key until the item was in the desired position. In the latest update however, this is not possible, because holding down the button only interacts once. This does not affect placing blocks.

I understand that this is most likely implemented to combat afk fish farms, but it causes annoyance and inconvinience to players who are playing the game as intended.

To reproduce the issue:

Pick any block that should allow the user to use the left click/left trigger function (i.e. note block, armor stand, or repeater). Place it down, and and hold down the "use" key with the crosshairs aimed at the block. The block is only interacted with once, while it should do so indefinitely.
