There is an instance where the store will give incorrect information to the user, but this will depend on their individual circumstances. For this, I will use the "Everything by Minecraft" section on the front page as an example.
This section has a button to "See All 56" items. For me personally, this next screen displays the following message - "53 Possible Results – Only showing content that will work on this device." A manual count of what I have available to me comes to 46 items.
The store is giving misleading or poorly worded information. Either:
The "See All 56" button on the front page is wrong, and there are only 53 items. Or,
There should be "56 Possible Results," and the store is only displaying the 46 items that will work on all my devices. Or,
Of the 56 items, the store should be displaying "53 Possible Results" that would work on my devices.
There is a discrepancy here, somewhere. Identical results were given on a Fire TV, a Windows 10 PC, and an Android phone and tablet.

Confirmed on Windows 10 release 1.4.5.0.
Counts shown are sometimes inconsistent/inaccurate across the several places they are shown:
On the "See All ###" buttons at the ends of categories in the main Store panel
In the heading at the top of the search results panel reached from those buttons
In the number of items actually listed in the search results.
When using filters on the Search panel, the number of results given in the heading does not always agree with the number of results displayed.
