Minecraft will not load

I was in a build-y mood today so I decided to get on Minecraft, go collect some andesite, and build something. So I click to open the game...

It got to the screen with the update message on it telling me all the Update Aquatic features that are now in the game. I read the list, then clicked "Continue", and immediately experienced a massive lag spike, so bad even the Xbox Live group chat I was in was lagging, stuttering, and dropping in and out. After a couple minutes of this, the game exited itself back to the Xbox One home screen.

So I try to open it again. It got to the white "Mojang" screen and stopped. From there it either just closed itself and went back to the home screen, or gave me a message saying "Minecraft is taking too long to load. try again?" and then exits back to the home screen. The game will not load. It will not open. I cannot play.

Fix it.
