Undead mobs can burn under slabs

Undead mobs can still burn with a slab above them.

Slabs in Bedrock don't block light, s it's logical that they would burn under them. Pretty sure this is works as intended.

Wasn't the point of this report that slabs didn't block light, and that undead mobs burning under them was an example?

Ok, so it seems like it is not a bug, but will they ever make it like the Java Edition?

Might be WAI; shouldn't be WAI, though. Possibly this needs to be an enhancement request, if it was intentional (what's the logic I wonder?) that a half-height slab of rock or wood doesn't block light.

@MD

What's the logic? Slabs in bedrock are semi-transparent and do not block light. That is why mobs burn under them during the day. Also if they make it the same as java it makes hidden lighting using same textures more difficult without carpets or maybe leaves. This has always been the behavior of stairs and slabs and it is actually quite useful for building.

I think it's WAI for a different reason. Here's why:

Light level and skylight level are two separate concepts. Light-emitting blocks such as torches and glowstones increases the "light level" of their surrounding area, whereas fully transparent blocks such as air, glass, and signs behave as if they were themselves light sources when they have non-zero "skylight level". An air block with a direct view of the sky has a skylight level of 15, and the level is propagated to its surrounding area.

Partially transparent blocks such as slabs, pistons, and stairs obstruct the "light level" to some degree. And importantly, they do block the skylight. Fully transparent blocks under a slab, even if the slab has a direct view of the sky, have a skylight level less then 15. Otherwise you cannot construct a village with a single door and a slab.

In the setup shown in the screenshot, however, the light level of air blocks occupying the place where the poor zombie is captured, would not be 15 but is higher than 11 (actually 13 I think) so it's high enough for zombies to burn.

Thank you for your report!
