Nether portals not linking Nintendo switch

I created a nether portal at x200, y63, z1600 in the overworld on a cobblestone platform next to an iceberg

i then created a corresponding portal in the nether at x25, y99, z200

however whenever i go I go through the nether portal it creates a new portal at x161, y100, z1202 in the middle of the air above the ocean

if I delete this portal and enter the nether through the original portal and then go back to the overworld, it recreates the portal.

the original portal links back to the nether but the nether never links to the portal despite the coordinates being exactly divisible by 8

i tried lowering the portal in the nether to y63 but the same issue still occurs

So an update to this:

The difference between where the portal should have spawned in the overworld and where it did was X40 Z400

I therefore in the nether placed another portal at X5 Z50 (so X30 Y99 Z250) away from the original portal and that is working fine...but obviously the numbers still do not fit the 1:8 ratio.

I also then went in search of the stronghold on this world and found it at X-1398 Y28 Z-2384

I created a corresponding Nether portal at X-175 Y60 Z-298

This portal in the overworld came out at X-1053 Y71 Z-1793

Now this second example, if you multiply the nether coordinates by 6 you would get:

X-175 Z-298 goes to X-1050 Z-1788, which is unbelievably close to the location where the portal actually spawned!

Can anyone shed some light on this? The nether ratio hasn't change back to 6 has it? I'm on an infinite world so i'd have assumed this should be 8?

In the initial example, if you multiply the nether coordinates by 6, you get X150 Z1200 which is again very close to the location of the portal of X161 Z1200

So further to this again...

I created a new world with the same seed and proceeded to create lots of nether portals.

Every single one worked as they should. It seems this is an issue relating to the importing of a Nintendo Switch Edition world into Minecraft Bedrock Edition

Probably portals in converted worlds keep original 6:1 ratio (console edition medium size world has 6:1 overworld to nether ratio), while new infinite worlds have standard 8:1 ratio.

Seems like a feature to me - this way portals in existing worlds don't get disconnected after conversion.
