Ender dragon disappears or never shows up. Portals to both overworld and end city are open as if dragon was slain. No egg. Tower crystals are untouched.

After more playing found dragon in the overworld near my house. He flys around and acts normal desyroying everything it flies into. Health bar works. How is this possible. No mods no cheats, just survival mode.
