Anvils 'eat' items (items disappeat imediately when placed), do NOT return to inventory... GONE!

In Creative Mode, in Sealantians Reef Rescue. I have already contacted developer, who says this is a Minecraft issue!  After digging a few pits, about 4 blocks deep, to place selected mobs for showcase, demo purposes, anvils started eating name tags. Anvils also started eating maps. This happened whether items were placed on anvil to rename, or to make copies of an anvil.  This is especially frustrating for renaming and reproducing Explorer Locator Maps, when making a map wall, due to labor intensive, time-comsuming efforts.

This happened previously in the end of adventure area of the World, in a previous session, with a separate 'world', created from the Sealantians template.

Is it possible that I broke some blocks in some type of command-field area, such that the anvils no longer perform as expected?

Thanks for pointing this out, we will have a look and see what the issue might be. In the meantime, could you please let me know if this was happening on a Realm, or in single player?

Also, I can suggest a workaround for the map situation that might help you out for some of the problem. (Not a permanent solution, just to help until we figure the bug out!) You can copy maps directly in your crafting grid, and you can also place them in item frames in Creative mode, which won't remove the copy in your hand.

This was in individual play, not multi, and not on a Realm.  Sealantians has at least one underground area with complex sets of Command Blocks. Perhaps I broke something some, or added something somewhere, that is in conflict with some kind of teleport of items to and from locations, and/or in conflict with programmed events in Adventure Mode.
