Short Summary:
Baby zombies and baby husks aren't damaged (or only sometimes are damaged) by standing on magma blocks.
What is expected:
Baby zombies and baby husks should be damaged by standing on magma blocks like other mobs.
Longer Description:
In a survival world, I have a mob farm where the mobs fall to their death. The babies didn't always die, so I placed a layer of magma blocks down. I later saw babies just standing on the blocks without being hurt.
I recreated this in a creative world. In the creative world, sometimes the baby zombies would be damaged by standing on the block and sometimes they wouldn't. It seemed to depend on exactly where they were positioned.
It also may depend on whether the baby was riding on an adult previously?

I'm still seeing this on 1.8.1. It can be reproduced as shown in the attached images. A mess of zombies are spawned, and swept by water over the edge of a 2-block drop and onto a row of magma blocks. The adults die, but nearly all the babies are able to squeeze off the sides of the magma block enough to survive. The effect doesn't seem to happen if zombies are spawned directly on the magma block.
I have found that if a carpet is placed on top of the magma block, the effect goes away. It seems the babies can't squeeze off the sides then, and they die along with the adults. So there is a work-around.
Seems to happen in my zombie grinder only when they are pushed up against another block but I have not tested that.
THIS IS IN 1.12!!!
I am seeing this in 1.15, Windows 10.
4 magma blocks at the bottom of a mob farm. Every mob dies, except for some baby zombies and baby drowned. They just stand there looking at me.
I have not noticed this in 1.8. It can be ignored/closed.
