When I load into my world, I was falling from the sky and died. I had spawned somewhere far away from where I had last exited the game, 3,000 blocks away. This only happens sometimes when I load the game, but it's made me paranoid to carry anything of value on me anymore. This hasn't happened to me before the 1.8 update.

Forgot to says that this has only started with the 1.8 update.

I have the same problem on xbox one x. Load game sometimes spawns me in at max height then fall to death. Spawning back in after death brings me to my bed. It seems to bbe random as I have not noticed an certain number of load ins it takes. I have noticed it does not seem to do this in my test build world that is set to creative. I saw a similar report on the nintendo version and commented there and was told I should report or comment here. I hope this is resolved soon as it greatly takes away from one of the best games around.

Thx for everyone who's said they've had the problem so far. It does appear to be random and I have also realized it was the game's original spawn. Sadly mine is far away from my house because I had searched for the perfect biome.....whoops. I can't collect my stuff but luckily when I had died it was all cobblestone + other road building materials, so nothing big like mined materials. This will probably get fixed soon in the next glitch patch considering what a problem it is

Update to my comment. This was reported in December 2018. They say it has been resolved but, as of last update. The problem still exists. I hope the fix for this happens soon. This is game breaking. Very sad to see this as Mojang has always been quick to fix such things. I hope they are not going the way of other companies and saying "We got your money already. Bye and good luck with our broken product".
This has happended to me 3 times on Windows 10 bedrock, and my daughter once on iPad playing in the same shared game (the game is hosted by the Windows 10 PC). The games loads and the player is placed at a significant height above the original world spawn point. The falls kills the player, and the player is respawned at the last spawn point (although this seems to be a bit buggy too, as I end up on the roof of my shack, rather than inside next to my bed). I've been fortunate in that my saved spawn point is not too far from the game origin point, so I am able to travel back and collect my dropped stuff before it disappears (what is the timeout on this, BTW?) But it is tremendously inconvenient. I have taken to placing all my inventory in a chest next to my bed before saving and quiting the game. Obviously I also lose all my XP points, which is quite a PITA.
