The weapons of the mobs are not in the right condition and after a few seconds the sword will return to normal.

Reopened based on reports of this still occurring.

For those affected, could you please confirm whether you are using a texture pack with the new textures? The 1.11 betas have the new textures set by default, so you shouldn't need to have the beta texture pack active as well.

It happened to me once in 1.9 with the old default texture, but when I apply a texture pack, all of a sudden the mob's weapon (vindicator's axe) was directly in its hand.

Yeah, I had already posted about this issue with custom texture packs, even the new vanilla, causing the axe and sword to be misplaced.
