Half slabs allows light to enter. is this a bug?

Half slabs are transparent

Per PC version of Minecraft Half slabs are not translucent.

When you dig a hole place half slabs on top it should be dark. All the other bugs that I have seen that were marked as work as intended have been switched to fixed when the PC version did not agree with it.
