I started up the game in a survival world which I have been playing for along time. Upon start up, everything in the world was dark (assuming night). A second later, I died. I respawned and returned to my previous location to find nothing. No items. No XP. Nothing. Everything lost.
I am certain that my character was healthy and safe inside a base/house upon previous save.

I have seen this issue too. If I leave the game while in my sky base. Y=150 when restarting the game get error - ‘outside of world ‘, my workaround is to always exit game at ground level y=65
