When using commands to create the new wood blocks, it will randomly fill out a giant cube of the last type of wood instead of placing separate wood types.

Could not reproduce in 1.10.0.4 using Windows 10.
The command /fill ~5 ~ ~-5 ~10 ~ ~5 wood created an 11 by 6 by 1 high layer of oak wood blocks, as expected.
Perhaps it would help if you would tell us what command you used, and if possible provide a screenshot of the result. Please also explain exactly what you expected to happen, as there is no single command that can place separate wood types (other than /clone, but I wouldn't expect you would refer to that as "placing" the blocks).
