White screen after launch Minecraft on Ipad

After launching on Ipad, a white screen is seen and nothing happens, or the app loads and stays on "signing into Xbox" screen forever.  My son is crying and saying we have horrible internet and that it loads fast / doesn't get stuck on the white screen at his friends house on this same ipad.  I ran a speed test in safari and it shows 15mbps down, 6mbps up.  The internet is fine.  Please help.

This may be a duplicate of https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MCPE-29021 however since that is marked 'Resolved' and this is most certainly NOT resolved, let's keep this ticket here or reopen that one or both.  This is infuriating and we'll be seeking a refund for this game if it's not fixed henceforth.

Try turning on Flight mode, opening the game, signing out of Xbox Live, and turning off Flight mode. Does that solve the issue?

thanks Jonathan, I had tried that but doesn't seem to be signed in to Xbox currently.  The Settings > Profile offers a button to sign in to Xbox.  I tried signing into it or creating an account, but it has the same issue; when wifi is connected it won't do anything and without wifi it doesn't bring up a login prompt.

Here's how the Settings > profiles looks, once we turn on wifi the app crashes and can't restart.  thanks for any help,

OK I tested logging in to Xbox live from Safari on the ipad, that works fine.  Then tried to launch minecraft and just see a solid white screen.  Doesn't seem to be that Xbox connectivity is the problem.

From the white screen, we can pull up the settings overlay (aka 'control center') and shut off wifi, then the app loads without restarting.

Same on iPad Air 2

This is happening on my iPad as well and has been doing this for weeks now. Tried adding program to my wife’s iPad, new install, never been used on that iPad before, no dice. If I open the app on my phone it loads very quickly. Same version of iOS, same user account, same home WiFi -it simply refuses to work on the iPad. Deleting app and data and installing fresh does nothing to fix this. It’s frankly a bit ridiculous that this bug has not been addressed - if the app won’t load at all on one specific supported device, this is a problem.

Thank you for your report!

Crashes such as these are logged automatically, and will be looked into further by the development team.
