The game was working. When my son attempted to connect with me, I was on Minecraft Win 10 Version and he has Minecraft PE, our games would not connect after several attempts. Once we decided to stop trying, he wanted to play the game on his own, and it is now crashing within 5 seconds of opening the app. He attempted to delete resource packs through the menus with some success before it would freeze then crash. After many resource packs were deleted, the game still crashes. Here the following steps we attempted before this ticket.
1) Turned the iPad (new generation) to airplane mode. This allowed him to enter the app before it would crash. If we had it connected to the internet, it would just crash right away.
2) Delete resource packs as time allowed.
3) Tried messing with general settings on the iPad (app background refresh off).
4) Off-loaded the app, then re-installed the app.
5) Powered down and then back up the iPad.
With all the above steps taken, the app will no longer load without crashing after 5 seconds.

It seems that minecraft is out of memory? Maybe the phone finds the minecraft heavy on RAM. Because this happened after he tried to play multiplayer with you, i think that the minecraft is not allowed to connect to the internet, if thats the case, give minecraft the permission to connect to the internet.
Thank you for your report!
Crashes such as these are logged automatically, and will be looked into further by the development team.

Had you recently adjusted the Xbox live permissions for the player? If so, it's likely to be the same issue as MCPE-29021.
