when the main loading screen with the Minecraft logo appears, it loads a little and freezes. I keep reopening, but it is frozen.
the app seems to be running, but the loading screen is not loading properly on iOS.
it is not a problem just with my iPad, I tried it on my 2 spares but it still didn't work.
if anyone else has had this problem, or knows how to fix it, please comment down below.

Not an expert, but do you have any texture packs applied???

Nnnnnnnnope

they are working to fix it they have seen other people post

I have exact same issue on my IPad Pro 2nd generation and my IPhone 7 plus so does my sister with same devices, have exact same screen and it does nothing, i am just stuck there. I have deleted minecraft and reinstalled, shut down wifi and rebooted, cleared all open apps and shut down both devices, and every time I reinstall that is it, that is all i see.
Plus if you read the top, it says, open, and says resolution, unresolved and fix.... NONE... not hopeful, why do i update should wait until a month after.

I'm using an iPad Pro. It seems to be attempting to log in to some server and failing or not timing out. If I delete app, reinstall app, and before launching put system into Airport Mode (no outside connections), I can get the app to load. However after either shutting down, or pausing, it reverts back to attempting to locate some server (or whatever) and you have to do it all over.

Same, I have been locked out basically by it freezing there, and I don’t think it is running in the background, at least on mine. I don’t know if anyone else has a realm, but i do, just curious if we have something common and you don’t state what Apple product you play on, since I know it is not all ios users. Every time i deleted Minecraft and reloaded, it duplicates itself so, there is nothing to bring it back... other than Minecraft.

Same here only mine is android on a galaxy note 9. Now I'm going through minecraft withdraws please help! My sons lgv20 plays it just fine.

Last night I was going to use a friends android, which is a Galaxy, tablet, don't know which. I was able to get installed, so it downloaded Minecraft and the update, and when I went to Minecraft after connecting to xbox live, and then opening Minecraft it does the exact same thing as the above attachment is, and says froze on there, so couldn't even do a android. So, now have I have: 2 iOS iPad Pro, mine and my sister's, and our 2 iPhone 7 plus, and now the android Galaxy that are froze in that screen doing nothing. So, yes, clearly not a iOS only issue.

Having the same issue on my 2018 iPad Pro 12.9” and my iPhone XS Max. Both devices are totally up to date. Seems to have started after the last Minecraft update. Can’t get past the loading screen

The 1.11.1 update had no effect on my iPad Pro. Still freezes.
Update: I also updated my iPhone 7 with 1.11.1 and now it's broken. It is freezing just like my iPad Pro.

I’ve done some research and actually if you download a VPN the game run normally again. I had the same problem as you guys and I downloaded a VPN and now it works fine! I’m on an IPhone se btw.

Can you provide a link or cant here? Or what u used?

Any reaction from Mojang?

Yes, that is my question after all this time is: What is Mojang doing about it, the workflow doesn't tell us anything and idol wait without some input just would be nice to have someone inform that yes they are indeed working and it's been assigned. Can't the duplicity's been connected together, so they are working on exactly the same problems for all of us. I am hoping we will be informed that a bug release for iOS, etc. for this specific issue will be informed to us vs finding out by someone stating a guess what....
This is just frustrating.
I use to be a BETA tester and I can not imagine that Mojang does not have testers for all of the platforms, so why did they not know this was going to happen, it should have to them... just don't get how this could have occurred when beta testing...?
Yes, frustrated waiting.

I tried something someone mentioned prior and said it worked, and I don't know why it worked(s) but it does. It at least gets you back into Minecraft with the update to boot. I did first on my iPhone which also would not load the update and was froze on the screen show about in attachments, and it worked, for my iPhone, I turned off my WiFi and used data to download Minecraft with the update, and when it did, I opened it, and it worked when I opened it it had that screen but went through it pretty fast and completed the uploading opening of Minecraft. So I decided to do the same with my iPad Pro, but it doesn't have data, so I needed to tether it to my phone. But first, I used it with the WiFi and re-uploaded the game with the update, but I did not open it. I went out of the store screen ad went to my settings and took my iPad off of connection to the WiFi. After I did that I connected it to my iPhone with using the Personal Hotspot setting on the phone, this basically Bluetooth the two together, the iPhone 7 plus still used the WiFi and connected my iPad Pro to it via Bluetooth but connecting with the Personal Hotspot. I was then able to go to the now re-uploaded Minecraft and open it, and it went to the load screen and it did load and go to being able to connect to my realm. I backed up my worlds to my laptop, so I had not world and the realm always remains and updates so I knew I wasn't going to lose it. I connected to the realm and was able to play and after a little while it connected me to the other servers and I was able to play multiplayer on one of the servers. I never lost connection, had a little lag on the server which went away and was able to go in and out of my realm.
I don't know why this works and hopefully Mojang reads and understand why this works when having it on WiFi does not.
So, good like trying to see if you can update and connect till Mojang fixes us not having to enter through a backdoor. You don't want to be using data to play, especially if you have limited data. Just a FYI. since I was using two devices, one used the WiFi while my iPad Pro which is not a data iPad, had it's WiFi off and using the service of my iPhone which can and needed to be on WiFi, so no using of data to play. I just wouldn't recommend doing if all you have is the phone and your using then data unless you data is unlimited then it don't matter, otherwise it will.
Thank you for your report!
