Chrome OS Device incorrectly marked incompatible with Minecraft Android

Since the February update to Minecraft Android, my Chromebook has been marked as an incompatible device. The device is a CTL-NL7TW-360 Chromebook, which appears in the Google Play Store (on my PC) as a Google Coral device. It ran Minecraft Android beautifully until being marked as incompatible with the 1.8 or 1.9 release (I can't remember at this point). The device has an Intel® Apollo Lake N3450 CPU and 4gb of RAM so I think it should be able to run Minecraft Android well.

The Minecraft Android app doesn't appear in the Google Play Store at all on the device.

I apologize if this isn't the correct venue for reporting this. I've tried emailing support using the contact form at help.mojang.com 3 times since February and haven't received a single response.

I just encountered this trying to update from v1.11.0 on the current Pixelbook. Minecraft v1.11.0 still works, in that I can connect to my realm. Very frustrating.

This is normal, 1.8, 1.9, 1.10, 1.11, and 1.11.1 have fixed issues where you can download the game on certain Chromebooks, which should normally be impossible. The Pixel Slate was fixed in 1.12.0.2

Why would it be impossible to download the Android version of Minecraft on a Chromebook that supports Android apps? What exactly was "fixed" to keep this from happening? Is there someplace I can see these "fixes"? Better yet, can they be "UNfixed"? Minecraft worked great on the Chromebook up until the February update.

Mojang has marked this issue as invalid several times.

Given Education Edition's recent release on Chromebooks and previous user experience it would not be unreasonable to assume that Bedrock Edition can run on Chromebooks (contrary to the support page answer). Perhaps Mojang should review in the meantime.

Eventually I decided to just not go through the Google Play method, and instead installed the unofficial Bedrock launcher for Linux onto my Crostini container.

If Mojang won't let us install Bedrock through the Play store, we have to seek alternatives that they might not like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
