The observer does not send a redstone signal when a crop changes its growth stage. Eg- When pumpkin plant grows and produces a pumpkin in adjacent block, it does not send out a redstone signal if it is behind the plant block.

The pumpkin stem didn't change its growth stage, it just changed the texture displayed. All growth stage changes are detected. This is still a bug though, it should be detected as well.

i was just reading about this on the wiki. bedrock observers don't detect pumpkin/melon stems and other entities in that category.
edit: well the wiki is out of date... just tested on winmob 1.11.1 and i got observer readings on everything. both stems, all stages, melon and pumpkin spawns.
