Blocks don't show breaking animation and upon "breaking" don't drop anything.

After installing the new beta update, I loaded up my survival world and went mining. After placing one torch down in a cave, all blocks stopped showing the breaking animation and once they did "break" nothing would drop.

Your game froze. I don't know what could be the cause for you, but I know how to reproduce this bug using bells in creative mode.

Note by @unknown in MCPE-46682:

(Note for mojang: Some numbers about "server" were frozen when this happened.)

I hope this gets fixed soon... I can't play at all

Currently the most likely cause seems to be villagers near a bell as reported by @unknown on ticket MCPE-46636. If you encounter this issue (or any of the duplicates) in a different circumstance, please comment below. Please add detailed steps to reproduce the issue, if possible. Video's or world downloads (with the location) can also be helpful.

I made a report about this and can confirm that a bell was part of an issue. I was in a desert biome by a village. I hit a bell while in split screen and then I destroyed it to move it as the well needed to be cleaned up. I ran over to my friend and the whole map lagged out like the description says. My original ticket was MCPE-46842 if you want to go back and check out any details. Let me know if you need any other proof or tips that could help.

Hello, Mojang staff,

I have a second note for you:

Its totally just the local server refusing to send/read packets that are received.

Similar problem for me. In a village, about to deal with a creeper and about 30 seconds after this save point, the world freezes on every play.  No villagers particularly close to the bell though.,

I can confirm being around or mining bells causes the crash

I decided to do some testing, I had re-created the world where I had the game freezing issue , went to the same village and broke the block the bell was attached to, and not the bell itself, and it fixed the issue for this world. I went back to the old save that was freezing and tried this, however it did not fix it on the original save.

Steps to re-produce.

  1. create a world with the seed "1481331594"

  2. Travel to -3343 69 -4172 You will find a village with a well

  3. On this well, locate the bell

  4. mine the block the bell is attached to, so the bell will drop

  5. Pick up bell and store for future use (DO NOT PLACE DOWN)

  6. Play as normal with no freeze/crash

Tested on both Windows 10 and Xbox One. beta 1.12.0.6

Update: After a few days, I was able to get the same exact map that was freezing to work again after just starting. It worked all day and to the next day until that evening it randomly froze and did the same thing. The second time, I was in split screen and was in a village with an unaltered bell. I logged easily 5+ hours if not 10 before it crashed.
