Sticky piston does not let go of block when activated by an observer.

On Xbox 360 and Playstation 4, when a sticky piston is activated by an observer, the quick pulse of energy causes a fast reciprocation of the sticky piston, which then leaves the redstone block behind.  When reactivated by the observer, the the sticky piston picks up the redstone block and takes it away.  This makes a great switch.  Yet on the Xbox One, the sticky piston never lets go of the redstone block, which ruins the function of this type of switch.  It is supposed to leave that restone block behind and then pick it up on the next impulse.  (I have no idea what "version" is affected, I just entered 1.11.4 because I was required to enter something).  Xbox One, whatever that is.

I think this is WAI (working as intended.)

That function only exists in Java Edition. In Bedrock, the bug you described is working as intended.

Ok, yep... I found out that the reason sticky pistons let go of blocks when powered by an observer is an error which was fixed in the Xbox One.  A sticky piston should never let go of any block.  Thank you, the sticky pistons are WAI.  I'll just have to change my design for switches.

If you are trying to make a switch for your designs, there are some good ideas including a T-flip flop. You can look up this flip flop to see how it works and how to build it.
