Cannot access store or realms

My Minecraft installation on my desktop cannot find the Store, Realms, my friends worlds, or the Servers list. It's completely offline. My internet connection is good (for instance, I'm filling out this ticket from the same computer).

My phone and laptop can connect to the Store, all using the same internet connection, so this is not an issue with my overall connection. I have tried completely disabling the windows firewall and Avast, with no change. I can't find anything in the Minecraft settings that would indicate an "offline" mode to toggle.

I've checked out C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.MinecraftUWP_8wekyb3d8bbwe\ but there's no log files that I can find. The resource_packs and world_templates folders are also empty, which is weird because I have resource packs and world templates that I can view inside the game in the Storage section.

The store page does not show my current Minecoin balance either, not that this is surprising given the connectivity problems.

Hi Don,

Β

I'm a little confused - I'm not an XBox user. I don't own one. I don't see anything at that link about Minecraft either?

I'm not, to my knowledge, trying to do anything X-Boxy, can you give me some more specific suggestions?

An update: This machine's Minecraft is still unable to get to any of the network services: Store, Realms, etc.

Have you tried a full reinstall of the game?

Backup any data you don't want to lose, then try the following:

  1. Backup your MinecraftWorlds folder (if you want to save your worlds) (Device storage > games > com.mojang > minecraftWorlds)

  2. Uninstall Minecraft

  3. Delete the com.mojang folder (Device storage > games > com.mojang)

  4. Reinstall Minecraft

  5. Run Minecraft and if it works restore your MinecraftWorlds folder

Sometimes a clean install of the game will help with these kind of issues.

Hi Jay,

Thanks for the suggestion, interestingly it turned up that I can't actually access the windows 10 store either, and a quick investigation shows that all my UWP applications are stuck offline, unable to detect my network connection. Clearly this isn't actually a Minecraft-specific issue.

One suggestion was to ensure IPV6 was enabled, as UWP store apps can't connect unless it is (Even if you're on an exclusively IPV4 network) - in my case it is enabled and I can connect via IPV6 to various sites.

I have finally managed to fix my issue, by ensuring my machine is marked as discoverable on the network and can do network discovery - apparently this also causes UWP applications to not bother checking for the internet. I'm putting htis here incase another Minecraft user has the same problem.

Ok thanks for the information, and I am glad that you found a workaround for the issue.
