So recently I have created a mob grinder. The whole inside of it is completely dark, yet I get no mob spawns even at night in it.
I have made sure there was no lighting around multiple times, and still, not a single hostile spawn.

There might be caves nearby that they spawn in instead. Also, you might be to close for it to spawn check out the spawn conditions sub section of this article https://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Spawn Let me know if you still think that you are being affected by a bug. Have a great day! 🙂

Ok! Ill check for any caves and check out the article!

Update: So I have checked for any caves and there is no caves. I checked the wiki and I checked the spawn rate. I was in range of the mob spawns. Unless I did something else that may have caused it, I am still convinced it is a bug.
Also, I have seen comments on YT on mob farm videos and apparently some other people don't get spawns too.
Let me know if you find anything! 😃

I looked closer in to mob spawning and I found this "There must be no players and no player spawn points within a 24 block distance (spherical) of the spawning block." You can find more info on the wiki about spawning blocks. So if you stay nearby the spawner or have a bed near it that may be the issue. Let me know if that helped! 🙂

Hmm, I think my world spawn was at least 200 blocks away form the farm, and idk about the bed. I'll check soon.

the mobs never despawn, according to what I've read. If no mobs are spawning then unfortunately you missed a cave. Even if you don't think so. Each chunk has a mob cap so it should be relatively close. This is a serious issue across bedrock edition. If you don't get them, please either like my post about it or this one. It makes the game unbearable when you can't find spiders for string, creepers for gunpowder, or slimes for slime. The whole no despawning thing was supposedly to stop mob farms, but it only broke the system

@Don Cox Alright, I checked and my bed was far enough away.
@Tyler C OH RIP! Well that sucks. And look at that, I saw a cave I missed...
Really sucks how a simple cave could be effecting my mob spawner.
SIDE NOTE: The type of spawner I tried to make was a one that spawns creepers, skeletons, spiders, and zombies. So there is not an actual spawner block.

Thank you for your report!
