This doesn't seem to be fixed in the newest update. I updated to 1.20.3 on Bedrock Edition and tried to see if it was fixed only to have it continue to not work. I recorded a video demonstrating this:

I don't have any addons enabled that should/would conflict, though, just in case, I tested within a fresh flat world with no addons aside from a music replacer, (sorry). My findings were that, although it'd sometimes work as intended, it would typically show the same results as my attached video.

Edit: The issue might be based upon the way in which we start swimming. I typically jump in the water, sink a bit, then start swimming and rise to the surface. Running into the water and directly transitioning to the swim animation may be the key difference, with one working and the other still bugged. Hopefully this helps.

Edit 2: I believe I found the issue. Holding the jump button while you're swimming on the surface of the water causes you to start draining oxygen, whereas not doing so allows you to go slightly higher. In fact, holding the jump button won't allow you to swim high enough to get oxygen unless you exit the swimming animation, therefore, if you swim up from deep in the water, holding the jump button, you could potentially suffocate unless you exit the animation or stop pressing jump. This is probably a separate, but related, bug.

Idk if this would count as new or valuable information, but this glitch seems to apply to boats and chest boats as well. I parked a boat at my dock in one of my worlds and, without warning, it disappeared. Now my other boat, in the same world, has disappeared, though it's just a copy of the world. I've used "/tp @e[type=boat] @s" and "/tp @e[type=chest_boat] @s" to check around the map for either boat. I even used the specific name to get my boat, which worked for one of them until it despawned. This is all in 1.20.15 btw.

Basically, if you have anything valuable, don't store it in a chest boat because it might disappear, even after being named. Hopefully this information is helpful. I hope a fix comes soon, because not knowing if a named mob, leaded horse, or even a chest boat will remain is incredibly frustrating.

I've had this exact glitch also happen with cobblestone on a realm I was playing on. I have no idea what caused it.

Although I don't need to, I can confirm this is a serious issue in my world. I have trader llamas spawn underground alot, then the trader dies, (either from lava or a mob), leaving the llama indefinitely; This causes the same issue as the drowned, except moreso because you can't fix it in vanilla.

Additionally, I'd like to note that the trader doesn't have to die for the trader llamas to continue to persist. If the trader gets detatched from the llama, the same issue happens.

Please Mojang, fix this issue in 1.17 or a patch for 1.16. It's an easy fix.

The behavior pack is nice, although disabling the achievements would make me avoid it, assuming I could ever use it on console in the first place.

This is a serious issue. I've been having so many trader llamas spawn in my caves that it's insane. Please Mojang, fix this issue. It's an easy fix.

It definitely doesn't just happen 50% of the time, and, (I don't know if it's the implication), the breakage certainly hasn't been causing duplication of any kind. In fact, I'd say that I might've lost blocks from this glitch, rather than gained. The block breaking has happened consistently with every gravity-affected block I've tried it on; This is also true for placable gravity-affected items, such as the dragon egg and anvil. I don't think this is the same as MCPE-40404, but it could be caused by a similar reason.

I've never had any ghost blocks appear, myself, but I imagine that could definitely happen for some people.

Just to be clear, the issue is primarily being caused by sticky pistons pulling the block out fron under a gravity-affected block or item; Breaking the blocks manually and having a normal piston push or retract the blocks underneath don't seem to cause the glitch whatsoever.

@saucemonster I haven't had any blocks get straight up deleted, at least when it comes to gravel, sand or concrete powder.

Also, can confirm that in 1.16.1 the bug is still happening for bedrock edition.

Can confirm as well. Also, it's affecting the xbox One version of Bedrock as well. It could be the block falling speed? I'm not sure.

the mobs never despawn, according to what I've read. If no mobs are spawning then unfortunately you missed a cave. Even if you don't think so. Each chunk has a mob cap so it should be relatively close. This is a serious issue across bedrock edition. If you don't get them, please either like my post about it or this one. It makes the game unbearable when you can't find spiders for string, creepers for gunpowder, or slimes for slime. The whole no despawning thing was supposedly to stop mob farms, but it only broke the system

As far as I know, switching difficulty doesn't fix that. From what I've read, the mobs on bedrock edition never despawn which mean you'll have to kill them for mobs to spawn on the surface.

@Th0mas_02 my render distance is all the way up on xbox one edition and the same thing happened.

Reply if affecting in 1.11.1 D:

I noticed this too, and I test piston machines a lot so it gets mildly infuriating.

I noticed this too. I talked about it in my issue about mob spawning that I noticed since I started playing the game more frequently. Even though I covered a ravine with dirt they spawned underground anyways.

Actually tbh, I think they,( the zombie villagers and normal), are treating iron doors like wooden ones. That might help fix the problem if that's what it is

Zombie villagers can break iron doors too D: Just saying lol 🙂 At least in my world. I figured I shouldn't create a new issue for it.

I'm able to exit and enter fine, however the world doesn't render parts of the world. I posted pictures on my issue about it. Sorry you can't use nether portals though

Light does effect slime spawn. Slimes don't spawn past light level 7 and even at light levels 7 or under the slimes have a 50%chance to spawn. I made to sure to check before I posted the thread

I really want to help fix any issues with the game, since legacy console edition was abandoned. I can show you exactly what the problem is and why it;s a problem, however, I can't tell you the coding/technical reasons why it happens because I'm not a coder ya know. I only know three things; 1. it didn't happen on legacy console edition for the xbox one, 2. that it started happening after i transferred the world from legacy console edition to bedrock edition (for xbox one), and 3. that it's the same world transferred over and changed to infinite

I'm on the xbox one version of windows 10/bedrock edition of minecraft on 1.10.0. I will happily give you a download link or invite you to the world if you tell me how to provide a link to my world
