trusted foxes despawn

Foxes can not be tamed. You can only tame them if you breed two foxes together and take the baby with you.

Foxes are never truly tamed, even trusted ones. The way you can have a fox trust you is if you breed two foxes and their offspring will trust you.

You'll have to NAME TAG a trusted fox. Taming foxes was not a feature, even when it was first added to Java.

Firstly, passive mobs should NOT despawn in Minecraft.

Secondly, foxes which have had significant interaction with the player can still despawn. (Basically, foxes holding your items can actually disappear into nowhere)
