Hi Mojang. I would like to report that the sound in the Minecraft game for Windows 10 is completely bugged or broken for me and for my friends. Yesterday we bought the game from the Microsoft Store and we were very excited but after we downloaded it we were very disappointed of the level of quality of the product that we got for our money. Neither me or my friends have sound in game and by in game I mean that we don't have any sound in main menu, making own world or joining any official server. We did extensive research on the problem and we know you don't want duplicated bug reports but I want to report this because a lot people have reported this and you mark it as resolved and post fixes that don't work and people still have NO sound and we don't get any assistance. Now before you mark this topic as duplicate or resolved, please read what me and my friends tried to fix the problem ( and we did so much things) and nothing worked! Here is the full list what possible solutions we tried but go no result and still have NO SOUND: Keep in mind we did them on different computers and not the same PC.

Bought Minecraft for Windows 10 about 4 days ago and since then it has been a huge struggle to fix this sound issue. I fallowed YouTube videos, searched reddit and the bug tracker here. I tried probably more things that the guy is saying here in this topic. Over 2 days of probably 4-5h thinking what might me causing the problem and I could not figure it out. Like seriously what is this? I pay for something and I get a game that is completely broken with no sound at all. It is the 21st century and its not acceptable to buy a broken product that you cant even get a refund and money back. I bought this game for my son who is 10y old and now how do I explain to him that I bought him a broken game. I work in IT building and I did everything that should fix this god damn game. I am sorry for the angry writing but this is un acceptable for a company big as Mojang!

Just saw this after my morning routine of trying to fix the same problem. Running it on Windows 10 Pro and I bought the game key from g2a for my kid. I don't have any problems with any other game and sound, only on Minecraft for Windows 10. Never had any problem like this ever before. What a bad game that you cant even get a refund. This is just sad. Now I see why Java was 22 euro and this only 5 euro. You should have said that game does not include sound 🙂

I have the same problem with it. I bought it for my kids (which have 2 different computers) who are using Windows 10 Home version and have installed Media Features 12 with all latest updates on windows and drivers. I saw this topic 2h ago and starting applying the things the user did and still no effect. I did probably 2/3 of what he has done. I only didn't do a Virus scan and registry defrag but that why I just gave up on this. I got bored of trying to fix a problem that is clearly a client problem and its not my responsibility to work at home to fix a problem that a company has with its product that I SPEND MONEY ON. BTW a friend gave me his Java Minecraft account so I can test it and stuff and it was working perfectly. I downloaded the JAVA MINECRAFT to my pc, and the 2 laptops of my kids and everything was running smoothly WITH SOUND. So yeah....Minecraft for Windows 10 is broken, no sound and bad product. I don't recommend it and I am not sure if I trust it will get fixed, when I see how much topics there are and they are all marked as resolved.

Same issue. No matter what I try I cant seem to get any sound!

I bought Minecraft for Windows 10 maybe about 3h ago from Microsoft Store and I can confirm there is NO audio for the game. I bought it for my son's birthday today and I am rly disappointed in this game. Neither my sons, mine or my husbands computer have sound. We are running 3 different Windows. Windows 10 Pro and Home with all updates and media working. We have problem only with this game!

I have the exact same problem. I do youtube reviews for games and decided to review and compare Minecraft Windows 10 edition vs Java in terms of performance. I heard Windows 10 Minecraft is multi core optimized and wanted to try and see which is better for high end computers. And I came across the same problem....I don't have sound in Minecraft for Windows 10 version of the game. I have everything working perfectly and sound on the Java edition Minecraft but no matter what I do I cant seem to get any sound for Windows 10 Minecraft. I don't believe my pc is the problem because I do a lot of reviews daily and on every other game I play or review I have no problems with sound or anything to be honest. A friend who also has Minecraft Java edition and has no problem, bought Windows 10 edition of the game for 3.50 euro from G2A since it was hot offer and he also has no sound. We are both using Windows 10 Pro.

Yeah i would like to comment after you. If you even read my topic you will see that I have done exactly what the topic you gave me said! Is this how you respond to customers? You don't even read full comment and just say "Well check this topic and tell us if it works". The first method I explain I tried explains that what you told me to check DOES NOT WORK!
Sorry that this issue in ongoing for some of you - it's not something that is affecting everyone so please bear with us while we try and find out where the issue lies.
Please remember that this is a bug tracker and is not a technical support site. This does sound like the same issue as MCPE-46604, but before we merge the tickets, could you please share some more information about the problem?
Could I please ask what your PC specs are? (RAM, CPU, GPU spec) If you like you can run dxdiag and copy the relevant information from there. (Win+R → dxdiag) - be sure to remove any personal information, just the PC specs would be useful.

Well it is the same issue. Its not hard to figure it out when you have in mind it happens to over probably 20 people. And this are the people I see that have open tickets and not counting the comments. I have this sound problem only on Minecraft for Windows 10. I have Minecraft JAVA and I have sound with no game problems. I have World of Warcraft, League of Legends, Resident Evil 7, Warcraft 3, StarCraft 2 and 5 more games and I don't have any problems. Only with Minecraft for Windows 10 I have NO SOUND. So I don't know why system specs even matter for a game like Minecraft when I run every other AAA game at max settings with no problems but here are my specs:
Motherboard: Asus M5A97 LE R2.0
CPU: AMD FX 6300 - OC 4.5GHZ
GPU: RADEON SAPPHIRE RX NITRO 570 - 4GB
RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury DDR3 - 8GB/4GBX2
Hard Disk: Western Digital 500GB 7200RPM
DirectX: 12
Windows 10 Pro 64bit (10.0, Build 18362)
Latest BIOS drivers + all updates for Windows 10 and every driver up to date.
Thanks for the extra information. We'll continue to track this issue at MCPE-46604, so we will resolve and link this ticket as a duplicate.
If you would like to add a vote and any extra information to the main ticket it would be appreciated.

I have the exact same thing running it on Windows 10 Home. I tried everything and last night I tried everything from this topic and it took me 4h30min and I was disappointed because still nothing worked. I would just like to say that running Minecraft Java edition is fine for me. I have sound and everything is okay. I have over 10 more AAA games and I have sound and no problems at all. Only Minecraft for Windows 10 is broken for me with no sound at all. Please fix this!
