This villager is a farmer, as you can see it you look closely at the right side of the screen shot, but it clearly says he is a Stone Mason with Stone Mason trades. I tried removing the stone cutter block, and putting it back, but that just made another villager (unemployed) become a stone Mason.

Sorry, but I think the farmer/mason might have died. The villagers keep getting killed by zombies cause they won't close their doors. But trust me, he was trying to sell me bricks for emeralds in a straw hat!
Can you still reproduce this issue? Are you sure there are not two villagers very close together as can happen if they are confined in a trading hall? A screenshot showing the villager before opening the trading UI would be helpful too.
Cleaning up old tickets: This ticket had been set to 'Awaiting Response', but has not received a response from the reporter (~3 months+) so is being closed as Cannot Reproduce. If you feel this is still a valid issue then please comment, or create a new ticket following the Issue Guidelines which includes steps to reproduce the problem.

It does not look like you are interacting with the farmer. Could you include another screenshot of the GUI closed, but the farmer in the same position?
