As previously mentioned in the summary, over the past few months of owning & using Mine-craft Bedrock on Nintendo Switch, I've noticed a prominent bug that severely affects the game's experience. There are many times where the game will freeze, & subsequently shut off. This problem occurs, & has occurred, whilst either opening, & closing a world, opening, & closing the software, coming back to the game after putting the console into sleep mode, or simply moving around in-game. This problem is still occurring on version 1.12.0 which is, to my knowledge, the latest version of the Bedrock edition. According to the patch notes for this version, the game crashing issue on Nintendo Switch has been resolved, yet the problem seems to persist.

My daughter is having the same issue. Keeps crashing, says "software has closed because an error occurred" its lagging so bad that it takes 5 minutes to load into the actual screen to choose your world, and when it crashes, it nearly locks down her switch. We have uninstalled and reinstalled 4 times now, and it keeps doing the same thing. She doesnt have a crap ton of worlds. She's so upset..
I've been receiving the same issue - over the past week it was crashing more and more. It's gotten to the point the game doesn't even open anymore. The game just crashes as soon as I open it.
The only fix I've found is changing my Nintendo Switch profile. But - All my purchases and achievements are gone, so that's not much of an option. I haven't been able to play for the past 3 days.
Game is still like this even worse i haven't been able to play in weeks. Haven't been able to play right in months
Not sure if this is the same issue or not but I wanted to add what I've experienced.
After seeing the Nintendo switch logo at the initial start screen, the screen goes to a blank black screen for over 2 minutes, sometimes more. Sometimes the Mojang white logo screen comes up after the 2 plus minutes and the game will finally load, and sometimes you get an error that the game failed to start and you're kicked back to the Switch home screen. If you're lucky and the game loads past the Mojang load screen it may still fail at the Minecraft title screen and kick you back to the Switch home screen.
If you get past that and you're able to select play and then the world you want to play, the game will fail when attempting to load your world and kick you back to the Switch home screen. My sone is not the only one to experience this issue. His two friends that he plays with are also having the same issue. I've worked with Nintendo support on this issue and they were not able to help me solve it.
Through all of the troubleshooting that I've done on my own I've come to find that the issue seems to be with the save file. If you delete the save file and start fresh, Minecraft will load and work fine, but you've lost all of your worlds, and after a while (a few months of play and multiple new worlds) the issue returns. I'm not sure if the save file gets corrupted, or if it gets too big to load properly, I'm not sure at this point. All attempts to delete content from the save file have been unsuccessful in correcting the issue. Only deleting the save file itself allows the game to function normally.
The game save file size says it's 1GB and even if I delete worlds or other content from the save file it still says it's 1GB. When starting fresh after deleting a save file, the file size is less than 1GB. I have my own switch and a copy of Minecraft, but I don't play nearly as much as my son and only have two worlds that I play in. My save file is less than 1GB in size and I have not had any issues playing or loading up the game. I have no idea if it's a save file size issue or not, but this is what we've experienced.
My son gets very disappointed when he cant load the worlds he wants to play and even more sad when I have to delete all of the worlds he's created and start from a fresh save file. But its the only way that I've found to get him playing again. And now his friends are having the same issue.
I hope I've included enough information to give you an idea of what we're experiencing.

Also experiencing the issue where my game crashes after attempting to load my saved world. I get to the switch screen, a few minutes later to the mojang screen, then the main screen but then as soon as I click to load I get a "!" with the "The software was closed because an error occurred" message. I noticed this started right after I updated my game. My switch is up to date I use a game cartridge, and I have plenty of storage left on the device.
I have the same problem. It's getting more and more often to the point I'm afraid to play outside at night. One time after crashing the game loaded my character outside in the middle of the night and being attacked by mods. At other occurrences, I have had items that I was mining disappear from my inventory.
