Walking On Grass blocks Sound Is glitched

Something else ive noticed is if i look up or down the sound fixes. however if im looking straight it bugs. and its only happening with grass so far.

Confirmed on Windows 10 version 1903.

Sounds coming from the direction the player is looking are at normal volume. Sounds coming from an angle are attenuated in proportion to the angle. Sounds coming from behind the line of sight are almost completely inaudible or are garbled.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Build a staircase of 4 wooden stairs.

2. Look at the bottom stair, then walk up the staircase.

3. Look at the top stair, then walk up the staircase.

Expected results:
The sound volume is about the same.

Actual results:
The sound volume is much lower when your head is tilted only slightly upward.

This might be related to Windows version 1903. Microsoft has been replacing drivers with DCH technology drivers. In some cases it is up to the hardware vendor to provide the replacement drivers, and at least one major vendor (Dell) has yet to provide them for some legacy systems. I noticed this problem right after updating to 1.12.1, which was right after I updated to Windows 1903.

At this point, who knows? We don't even know yet whether the DCH drivers have anything to do with this. It could be just an ordinary bug in the game. I mentioned the DCH driver changes to put a bug in Mojang's ear in case they aren't aware of the new driver technology, and also to encourage other people with this problem to mention whether they're on Windows 1903, since the bug might be specific to that version.
