So me and my friend cant join each other on our own worlds, which are set to public, so anyone could join. We have checked every setting and even deleted each other from our friends lists. It always just says: Unable to connect to world. Every single setting has been checked too. The only way we can play together is through a LAN game. We disabled anti viruses temporarily too but nothing. In a nutshell: we have tried everything but we just can not join each other unless we are on realms or LAN. We are both playing on minecraft W10 edition. We thought this new update would fix this problem but no.

I am experiencing the exact same problem.
Prior to the 1.13.0 update, it was working perfectly fine. but after the update, nobody I know can get lan to work.

Yeah, my friend and I also are trying to join each other but can't and this also came after the 1.13.0 update as well

This isn't a duplicate! Look at the version! This also happens in 1.17.34 when I'm using an iPhone 8 with iOS 15.0.
Another workaround:
For those of you who don't want to sign in or create an Xbox or Microsoft account, ask the person with the unjoinable world to restart Minecraft and reopen the world. If this doesn't work, repeat. Only this time, also have the player trying to join the world restart Minecraft
. If this doesn't work, I don't know what will.
A friend and I of mine are having the same issue. This only became a problem for us after the 1.13.0 update.
