Long boot-up times and Frequent game crashes after 1.13

Once updating to 1.13, boot time was normal and relatively quick (less than 30 seconds). However, upon creating and saving any new character to an account in the new Character Creator, initial boot-up time increased to several minutes. Additionally, when the game does finally load in, using the newly created character or applying a cape to a pre 1.13 skin results in very unstable gameplay, with frequent "The software has closed because an error occurred." messages.

We typically play on a Realm, and have found that if we play with a very basic Steve or Alex skin with no capes, then the game works as it did before. We have tested the boot-up time issue with three different Nintendo Switches: all three have been updated to 1.13 and all had quick boot-times upon first-loading into the game. However, the two that created characters in the new Character Creator have since been affected by much longer boottimes, while the one that has not yet made a new character still loads in very quickly.

Long boot-times and frequent software-closings persist even after deleting and re-installing the software, as well as after system restarts.

I removed the cape from my skin and my world started working normally again, it wouldn't randomly crash when I tried to sleep or save and exit.
