PS4 - Dropped items occasionally despawn instantly.

When playing in 2 player split screen, we dropped an item on the floor for the other person to pick up but it instantly disappeared. 

We tried throwing a number of things down at this point, and found that only about 1 in 8 was being created as items.

A player had recently returned from the End prior to this occurring.

Shutting down the game and re-loading seemed to fix it, but the missing items did not re-appear.
