[MCPE-59502] Wither breaks obsidian when spawned

Wither breaks obsidian,

Steps to Reproduce:

Made a obsidian cage for wither
Spawn wither inside obsidian cage and close it up with 2 more blocks of obsidian,
Wither spawns and does startup explosive and breaks obsidian,

Observed Results:
Wither spawns and breaks obsidian,

Expected Results:
Wither spawns and does startup explosive but doesn't break obsidian,

Well I got told to report this, but I read that Wither breaks obsidian when it gets down half it’s health, when did the Wither mechanics changed, I also get the old mechanics mix with the new mechanics,

It didn't change. The Wither breaks everything except bedrock and endportal frames. Are you sure you didn't just have mob griefing turned off? That would cause him to not be able to break blocks. Also, it should be noted that the normal black skulls that he shoots can not break obsidian, but the blue ones will. If you keep too much distance he tends to shoot the blue ones. Maybe this was what happened?

No I didn’t have mob griefing off because I play in survival with no cheats on, but the last time I fought the wither was last year, but the wither is too overpowered on Bedrock,

Just to be clear, this bug ticket is tracking the issue that the Wither spawning explosion currently breaks obsidian, (which it didn't in previous versions, nor does it in the Java Edition).

The Wither can and still will be able to break obsidian blocks with it's blue skull ranged attacks, however, which is by design.

Yeah the explosions at spawning the wither breaks the obsidian and it should just be the blue skulls that break obsidian, but it’s completely overpowered right now, just blowing up too many blocks and can’t even get the kill on the Wither on normal mode on Minecraft Bedrock,

@Mega_Spud Not it's not new to this version. The Wither spawning explosion also broke obsidian back in 1.12 when I first tried spawning it.

@Richard Dodd Yes many of the Wither strategies on the Wiki only work in Java. In Bedrock, tunnel up to Y=121 in the Nether, make a long horizontal tunnel you can retreat down, and spawn the Wither up there. It will try to fly up above you and get stuck among the uneven bedrock ceiling. Approach carefully and find a spot you can hit it from.

I spawn it last year in beta and it didn’t break obsidian, and now that I spawn it a couple of times this week, all it does is break obsidian and a lot of blocks, I think the spawning and explosion shouldn’t break the obsidian only the blue skulls,

While I like the fact that the initial explosion don't break obsidian anymore.

In the beta, blue skulls don't break obsidian anymore.
And the wither is supposed to be able to break all blocks around it when it takes damage, including obsidian.

This bug was only to fix the spawning animation not the blue skulls, so now this needs to be fixed, the wither is pose to break everything after spawning animation, I’m gonna have to make another bug tracker report on this, and I’m not currently playing on beta on my Xbox, but thanks on beginning this to my attention,

Let just state again, Wither spawning animation isn’t pose to break obsidian this was the bug that got fixed but now the skulls don’t break obsidian as this is a bug and should be fixed, I did a new bug report for the Wither Skulls not breaking obsidian,
