My girlfriend is writing in Minecraft Chat and I can't read it but others can read it

We've had reports of problems when using non-Latin alphabets in chat. Chinese, Japanese, and Cyrillic have specifically been identified as problematic. Could this be related? If not, can you attach a screenshot of what you're seeing please?

We write in German. It's like when my girlfriend writes something in Minecraft Chat, the players see what she writes, but I don't.
