No squid spawning in rivers on bedrock dedicated server.

I play on a Bedrock Dedicated Server. When I built a river-based squid farm no squid would spawn on the world. I copied the world to my pc and ran a copy intending to go in creative to diagnose the problem only to find out that squid started spawning immediately without any changes to the settings. That is the only variable that changed. I can only conclude there must be something wrong with the server version of the game. Another possibility is that when I copied the world from the server to the pc it cleared all the mobs and its behaving as if I ran a kill all command. I did not change any settings when moving the world. My world is too big to attach but I am willing to submit if requested. I don't remember the last time I saw a squid spawn in the river. In windows 10 edition it worked just as expected.

Hi Ryan,

A world download would certainly help, rather than me trying to reproduce this on a BDS.

Have you checked whether putting that world back on a BDS results in the Squids not spawning?

I do apologize for my rash assumption so far, upon further testing it seems that the squid can spawn on the dedicated server. however, when you copy a world from one system to another(I tested just moving it from one BDS to another and windows 10) something happens that causes this to start working whereas before it did not. Maybe it is the way I am coping the world using FTP while the original server is running? something happens when copying the world that causes the world to allow squid spawns after copying the world folder. I can only guess whats happening behind the scenes to explain this but either way this original issues is a non issue after all. sorry to waste your time.

Ryan.

You need to report it on Bedrock Dedicated Server project.
