Last night while I was playing on my friend's world, I had a full inventory, when I got off (selected 'Save & Quit' then closed game) I think my inventory was not saved, as when I hopped on today, everything was wiped clean from my inventory.
Sadly, I know I can't get my stack of iron and 5 diamonds back no matter what, but PLEASE, make sure others do not lose their inventories from this bug.

I also was located at world spawn, as when I logged on, I was not at 0,64,0, where I logged off at

Just logged back on, my old inventory seems to have returned, thankfully I was paranoid enough to leave my gear in a chest so I lost nothing from the rebooted inventory, such a strange bug.

Today my inventory was emptied, again. I was also warped to a set of completely random coordinates, though, I know how to remedy this bug, a simple Hard-Reset of the console can return the original inventory, I think this bug should be called a "ghost inventory".

It happened to me today 😭😭😭 I had every item of netherite and it just disappeared

Sanchez, I think a hard-reset of your console can resolve the error

It was on my phone.-. on Android 9

Thank you for your report!

We are still looking into the issue with player data changing or being lost at MCPE-55815.
If the issue is still occurring for you in the latest version (currently 1.16.1) please could you add any steps to reproduce the issue at MCPE-55815.
Also, if you have a copy of the world save available, you might like to share a copy of it for investigation.
On Windows 10 you can use the Export world feature.
On Android or iOS you need to use a file explorer to navigate to Device storage > games > com.mojang > minecraftWorlds
On Xbox or Switch the only way is to upload it to a Realm, and then download the world on Windows 10 or Android/iOS. (Please do not purchase a Realms subscription just to provide a world to us - but if you have a Realm already this may be a viable option if you wish to do so.)
If the world is larger than 10MB you can upload the world to OneDrive or a similar file sharing site, and then share the link in a comment at the main bug ticket at MCPE-55815.
Thank you for your help, and for your patience while we look into this bug.

It appears that the bug no-longer is existent in the current version, but, when the update came out the world was deleted so it could be replaced with a new one for the nether update
Hi James,
Were you also located at world spawn when you logged in or were you at the place you logged out?
