Signs aren’t visible when carpet is placed on top of signs

I’m not sure if this is an intended Bedrock Edition feature but when you place carpet on top of signs, the signs aren’t visible above the carpet, unlike Java Edition. From left to right: oak, spruce, birch, jungle, acacia, and dark oak.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Place down a sign on the floor.
2. Place any coloured carpet on the sign.

Observed Results:
The top of the sign doesn’t show through the carpet.

Expected Results:
In Java Edition the top of the sign shows through the carpet.
