Firstly, I’m not sure if I selected the correct “affects version/s” because I’m unsure what version is on my iPad.
I’ve had a problem twice now where I was working towards getting 18 bookshelves in order to max my enchanting table. The first time it happened, I had all but 3 bookshelves placed around my table, and left it like that to procure resources to make the last 3. When I returned, 9 of my shelves were missing, and had not become item blocks anywhere. So, I went off and worked towards more books, and got up to 14 shelves placed, when I returned this time, 7 shelves were missing.

How to reproduce:
Created home or used dug space* (both instances) in side of mountain, room 5x7 blocks approx 8 blocks under cover (grass, stone)
Set up enchanting table in middle block, create bookshelves, place bookshelves one block away on 2 or more sides, 2-3 levels high, between 10-27 in number
Leave the cave/home for (undetermined) length of time. (My experience was approx 1 day in game.
Bookshelves have randomly disappeared, ie. May have some still remaining from all levels, interspaced where they were placed with holes from missing ones. No sign of item drops, no fire or lava nearby to ignite.
Bookshelves should remain as placed.
