when you farm animals if you have two baby animals from the wild and a regular animal from the wild when the baby animals become adults they can de-spawn.

This is a result of the new mob UI. If you don't interact with a mob (hitting it, for example) it may despawn if you travel to different chunks. It helps reduce overall memory.
Try hitting, without killing, the mobs you want to stick around.
